Integration

Clio Integration

Eliminate double data entry. DocketRadar syncs court data directly to Clio so your practice management records stay current automatically.

Clio sync is included on all plans, including the Free plan (up to 5 cases).

Why Clio

Your cases, always in sync

Clio is the practice management platform of choice for thousands of law firms. DocketRadar's integration means court data flows directly from the clerk portal into your Clio matters — no manual re-entry, no copy-paste, no stale records.

Automatic sync

Once connected, DocketRadar pushes new hearings, docket entries, and party information to Clio automatically. No manual steps required after initial setup.

Privacy-first

DocketRadar requests only the Clio permissions needed to sync court data. Your OAuth tokens are stored securely on DocketRadar's servers. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no data sales.

Time saved

Legal professionals who manually enter court updates into Clio spend 30-60 minutes per day on data entry alone. DocketRadar reduces that to zero by syncing changes as they're detected.

Data

What syncs to Clio

Hearings

Dates, times, judges, and courtrooms sync to Clio matter calendar events. When a hearing is rescheduled on the court portal, the Clio event updates automatically.

Docket entries

New filings, motions, and orders sync as activity entries on the Clio matter. Each entry includes the filing date, description, and type.

Party information

Party names, roles, and contact information sync to the Clio matter's relationships. New parties added to a case appear in Clio automatically.

Setup

Connect in 30 seconds

The integration uses OAuth 2.0 — the same secure authorization flow used by every major Clio integration.

Open DocketRadar Settings

In your DocketRadar dashboard, go to Settings (gear icon).

Click "Connect Clio"

This opens a new browser window with Clio's authorization page.

Authorize DocketRadar

Log into your Clio account and click "Authorize" to grant access. You'll see the specific permissions being requested.

Return to DocketRadar

The authorization window closes automatically and your dashboard shows "Connected." Your OAuth tokens are stored securely on DocketRadar's servers.

Start syncing

DocketRadar syncs case data to Clio on the next check cycle. You can also trigger a manual sync from your dashboard.

Sync frequency

Clio syncing happens automatically whenever DocketRadar detects a change. Cases are checked every 15 minutes — new court data typically appears in Clio within 15 minutes of a change being filed.

You can also trigger a manual sync at any time from your dashboard.

Disconnecting

Open DocketRadar Settings, click "Disconnect Clio," and confirm. OAuth tokens are immediately deleted from DocketRadar servers. Data already synced to Clio remains in your account.

For additional security, revoke access from Clio's "Connected Apps" settings.

Help

Troubleshooting

Changes aren't appearing in Clio
  • Check that the Clio connection is active in DocketRadar Settings. If it shows "Disconnected," re-authorize by clicking "Connect Clio."
  • Verify the case is on your DocketRadar watch list — only monitored cases sync to Clio.
  • Try a manual sync from your dashboard to push pending changes immediately.
  • DocketRadar automatically finds or creates a Clio matter for each monitored case, matched by case number.
  • Ensure you're logged into the correct Clio account before authorizing.
  • Disable popup blockers temporarily — the OAuth flow opens a new window that may be blocked.
  • Clear your browser cookies for clio.com and try again.
  • If the issue persists, contact us at cleo@docketradar.com with your browser name and version, and a screenshot.
  • DocketRadar uses unique identifiers to prevent duplicates. If you see them, the Clio matter may have been matched incorrectly.
  • Check the matter mapping in DocketRadar Settings to ensure the correct Clio matter is linked.
  • Contact us if duplicates persist — this may indicate a sync issue we need to investigate.
